I know how it feels to put off your JOY. I'm a musician who didn't sing in public till I was 33! That's because I'd taken in all the oppressive messages we get: "Happiness comes later... play is frivolous... life is to be endured not enjoyed... your voice doesn't really matter".
Believing those messages, I stopped being ME.
For decades, I convinced myself that creativity was impractical and JOY was impossible. Also that it was selfish. And that I wasn’t talented or deserving enough. And all the other excuses.
Everything changed when I finally shared a song I'd written with an especially supportive friend. Their encouragement cracked open a door I had shut for decades.
Since then, I have:
Spearheaded performance groups for feminine empowerment. Created an interactive art-site and blog. Written and performed dozens of songs. Recorded and produced and collaborated on seven albums (one of them won a Tammie award for Best Vermont Rock Album).
Best of all, I've helped over a hundred other women and femmes reclaim their own creative JOY.
Through it all, I've learned that JOY comes first. And THEN life gets easier.

But then Jenny's creativity kicked down her door like a glitter-covered raccoon on an espresso binge. Now she’s belting out her Whole Voice, leading a full-blown creative revolution, and handing out megaphones to anyone still hiding under the table.
